Looking at the beach shots below, you’d be forgiven thinking that this is a collection of some of the best beaches I saw during my 2 weeks in Sri Lanka. But I cycled just 31 km today – and all the photos below are from the little ride.
Needless to say, it was absolutely stunning cycling!
Local fishermen on stilts. Sort of puts my bum sore after longs days in the saddle in perspective…
Sometimes you don’t even have to leave your bike to get a first-class beach view…
Unawatuna Beach. I reached this spot early in the day, and thought I’d be going much further along the coast today, but I just couldn’t leave this fabulous beach, so I checked in to a little guesthouse for the night. The joys of spontaneity when bike touring. Solo.
Unawatuna Beach seen from the stupa on the hill at the western end of the bay.
Unawatuna Devol Devalaya (stupa, stupid!)…
Night time at Unawatuna Beach. Cosy. Mossies liked the place, too…
